Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of young heartache achieved widespread popularity in the first decade of the 20th century. Swift was a fan of music since a young age. She quickly moved up the ranks, starting with roles in children's theater before singing in front of a huge crowd. Swift was 11 years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Following that, she began writing songs and picked up the guitar. Drawing inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original music that was a reflection of her experience of being a tween and feeling alienated. Swift was only 13 when her parents decided to let go of their Pennsylvania farm and move into Hendersonville Tennessee. She could spend all of her efforts to contacting label labels from the country scene in Nashville.
